About
Michael Boyle is a documentary photographer and visual storyteller.
Michael’s photos reflect how he sees the world: quirky - with melancholy beauty, grit, and grace; often highlighting lonesome objects touched with traces of humanity. He captures the unnoticed elegance and tender irony hiding at the frayed edges of the everyday life.
Michael is minimalist in his gear. Currently he is shooting using a Fujifilm X-E3, a Ricoh GR III, and a Canon G7x. These are small, older digital cameras, each with a bit of a cult following among photographers. He believes it is the image that’s important, not how you got it. Also, that being nimble on the street is vital to get the shot. These cameras fit that philosophy.
